You would not believe how much fun car racing is!!! I thought car racing would be boring because all they do is go round in circles! But it was so much fun! At the beginning after the American anthem, four loud jets came whizzing passed… do those Americans know how to put on a show or what! In the race near the end were two crashes - the first was a huge collision because the head of one car went straight into the tail of another, which went up onto its nose. The car traveled like that a few meters before falling onto its back and slid into the wall, bounced off and back onto the grass taking another two cars with it. In the second crash a car got sideways and got its bum smacked which hit the wall as it spun around - something like 10 cars hit him on the last corner but amazingly all that hit crossed he finish line. Lots of cars were smashed at the end it was awesome!!! (perhaps that’s why people go to the car racing)
Stadium wasn’t quite full however still truckloads of people – and most of them in the main grandstand (you can see a small part of it in the background of today’s photo).
We feel at this point that perhaps it’s time to introduce you to Bob. This little brown kiwi started off life as a golf club head cover but is now our woodiesusaroadtrip mascot! He will be accompanying us on all our adventures and may pop his nosey little head up in photos form time-to-time – see if you can spot him!
